Here's how to remove the rear bumper cover.
Preliminary Work
1 – Removing the luggage compartment floor trim panel
▶ Removing the luggage compartment floor trim panel
Raise the luggage compartment floor trim panel (1) with the special tool at the rear corner.
Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel (1) in direction of arrow.
2 – For version with compact spare wheel: Remove the storage tray

Remove the storage tray (1) towards the top.

▶ Remove the storage tray for the compact spare wheel
Loosen the Velcro fastener (1).
Remove the emergency wheel (2) with the insert shell toward the top rear.
Remove the storage tray (1) toward the top rear.
3 – Removing the loading edge trim
Remove the expanding rivet (1).
Guide out the loading edge trim (2) upwards.
4 – Remove luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel on left.
Remove the cover (1) towards the top.
▶ Remove luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel on left.
Lever out and remove trim (1) in lashing eye (2) at recess.
Loosen screw (3) and remove lashing eye (2).
Remove the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel.
Lever the lid (1) of the storage compartment up and out.
Remove the expanding rivet (2).
5 – Removing right luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel
▶ Removing right luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel
Remove the cover (1) towards the top.
Lever out the storage compartment (1) towards the top.
Remove the expanding rivet (2).
Lever out and remove the trim (1) in the lashing eye (2) at the recess.
Loosen screw (3) and remove lashing eye (2).
Remove the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel.
6 – Remove both rear lights from the side panel
NOTICE
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
▶ Remove the rear light from the side panel on the left
Protect the body in this area (1) using yellow plastic adhesive tape.
Unclip the water guide ( 1) using special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325).
Unlock and disconnect connector (1).
Loosen the nut (2) on the inside of the luggage compartment.
Loosen the nuts (1) on the rear light (2).
Remove the rear light (2) in the direction of the arrow.
7 – Remove the trim from the rear bumper panel
Unclip the trim (1) from the bumper panel (2) using a suitable plastic wedge and remove it towards the rear.
With SA715 M Aerodynamic package:
Unclip the trim (1) from the bumper panel using a suitable plastic wedge and remove it towards the rear.
8 – Remove both exhaust tailpipe trims
NOTICE
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Loosen screws (1).
Remove the trim for the exhaust tailpipe (2).
9 – Remove rear bumper trim
Loosen screws (1).
Loosen screws (1).
Loosen the bumper panel (2) from the latch mechanisms (3) at the top.
Loosen the bumper panel (2) from the remaining latch mechanisms at the bottom and on the side at the top and pull towards the rear.
Disconnect the plug connections and remove the bumper panel (2).
