BMW X5 - G05 (2018 – present) Rear Bumper Removal

Here's how to remove the rear bumper cover.

Preliminary Work
GRA-PIX-GRRB-51-060-26
Reach behind backrest side section (1) from above and unclip it forwards from mounting element (2).
Remove backrest side section (1) in the upward direction from the guide.

Release trim (1).
Loosen screw (2).

Reach behind backrest side section (1) from above and unclip it forwards from mounting element (2).
Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
Remove backrest side section (1) upwards from the guide.

Version A:
Lever the illuminated sill trim (1) upwards out of latch mechanisms (2) using a suitable tool.
Disconnect the plug connection and remove the illuminated sill trim (1).

Version B:
Lever the illuminated sill trim (1) upwards out of latch mechanisms (2) using a suitable tool.
Disconnect the plug connection and remove the illuminated sill trim (1).

Loosen screws (1).
Release and remove the rear door sill cover strip (2) with the special tool0 496 569 (00 9 325) upwards at the latch mechanisms (3).
Main Work

NOTICE
Perform the operations on the left and right side.
Loosen screw (1).

Perform the operations on the left and right side.
Release wheel arch trim (1) in area of bumper panel from latch mechanisms .
Unclip wheel arch trim (1) from clip (2).

Perform the operations on the left and right side.
Loosen screw (1).
Release bumper panel from the latch mechanisms in the area of the side panel.

Only for G07:
Loosen screw (1).

Press down the retaining lugs (1) and pull the bumper panel (3) out of the guides (2).
Guide out the bumper panel (3) and in this process, unlock and disconnect all plug connections.
Remove bumper panel (3).
